Effect of Wall Thickness and Surface Conditions on Creep Behavior of a Single-Crystal Ni-Based Superalloy

نویسندگان

چکیده

The influence of wall thickness and specimen surface on the creep behavior single-crystal nickel-based superalloy MAR M247LC is studied. Specimens with thicknesses 0.4, 0.8, 1 2 mm, without casting surface, are compared to specimens same prepared from bulk material. Creep turned out be independent conditions even for thinnest specimens. debit effect not pronounced short rupture times (?100 h at 980 °C), whereas it significant longer than ~200 °C. time-dependent caused by oxidation diffusion-controlled mechanisms.

Evaluating the Effect of Ta/W Ratio on Microstructure and Stress Rupture Properties of Ni-Based Single Crystal Superalloy PWA1483

In this study, the effect of Ta/W ratio on the microstructure and stress rupture properties of Ni-based single crystal (SX) superalloy PWA1483 was investigated. For this purpose, single crystal (SX) superalloys with different Ta/W ratios (0.75, 1.0, 1.32 and 1.5 in wt.%) were fabricated. The alloys were directionally solidified by Bridgman method under the same solidification condition at withd...

Lattice strain evolution and load partitioning during creep of a Ni-based superalloy single crystal with rafted microstructure

In-situ neutron diffraction measurements were performed on monocrystalline samples of the Ni-based superalloy CMSX-4 during N-type g0 raft formation under the tensile creep conditions of 1150 C/ 100 MPa, and subsequently on a rafted sample under the low temperature/high stress creep conditions of 715 C/825 MPa. During 1150 C/100 MPa creep, the g0 volume fraction decreased from ~70% to ~50%, the...

Creep of Ni-Al and Ni-Cr-Al Superalloy Foams

The steady-state creep rate of Ni-base metallic foams, with superalloy composition (in wt. pct) Ni7.8∼9.1Al (relative density, ρ = 2.5-2.6) and Ni-13.5∼16.6Cr-5.1∼8.9Al (ρ = 2.8∼3.0), was measured under a range of temperatures (680∼825°C) and applied stresses (0.1∼0.3 MPa), and compared with that of NiAl intermetallic foams (ρ = 5.3). The stress exponent and activation energy are within the exp...
